Tribunal Award Limits Increased
The Government has announced the new Employment Tribunal Award Limits for 2014.
From 6 April 2014, the maximum compensatory award for unfair dismissal is set to increase from £74,200 to £76,574.
This will of course be subject to the additional cap of one year’s gross salary (or £76,574 whichever is the lesser) which was introduced for the first time on 29 July 2013.
Further, for dismissals which take place after 6 April 2014, the upper limit on a week’s pay for the purposes of calculating unfair dismissal basic awards and statutory redundancy payments will increase from £450 to £464.
